About Íþróttir

From 1998 to 2000, the now defunct Dorestad Sibbe, a Dutch early-medieval re-enactment group, published the "International Mimir", an English language quarterly. At its demise, the then editors decided to continue with the magazine under its present name and this resulted in the first issue of Íþróttir in March 2001.

Íþróttir is a small magazine, focussing primarily on crafts, skills and knowledge related to the early Middle Ages, as well as announcements of and reports on re-enactment events.

Its present subscribers range from re-enactors to museum curators, and live in various countries throughout Europe and North America.
