The Dark Ages Re-creation Company is a group of serious amateur living history interpreters from Ontario, Canada. The group's stress is on daily life and the artisan, providing high quality programing for museums as well as their own camping events. DARC marks its formal founding in 2000 (the Millennium anniversary of the Vinland explorations). Its roots lie in the creation and participation in the 'Norse Encampment' series of programs starting in 1994. Special interests and skills of various group members lie in all facets of historic metalworking and textile production, as well as glass bead making and ceramics. An ongoing experimental archaeology series has been work with Viking Age iron smelting processes. http://www.darkcompany.ca/
