The National Museum of Ireland - History and Archaeology houses an exceptional collection of artefacts dating from 7000BC to the 20th Century, including the Ardagh Chalice, the Tara Brooch and the Derrynaflan Hoard. Special exhibitions include "Ór - Ireland's Gold", a stunning collection of prehistoric gold ornaments, as well as "Prehistoric Ireland" and "Viking Age Ireland". In the recently opened exhibition, "Medieval Ireland 1150-1550", life in later medieval Ireland is explored through surviving artefacts divided into three galleries, titled "Power", "Work" and "Prayer". http://www.museum.ie/archaeology/
