The Tower Castle in Lütjenburg is an authentic re-construction of a medieval fortification that is typical for the local region. Currently, a small medieval village is being built at the tower base, consisting of 5 houses. The project is run by a club who also organises 3 medieval and / or viking age camps per year.

The Viking Market in Hafnarfjörður is the oldest, largest and most important event of its kind in Iceland. Since 1995 Hafnarfjörður has been a playground of Vikings demonstrating trough the years most aspects of Viking culture, ships, cuisine, handcraft, storytelling, archery, games, music and battle demonstrations.
At the 2008 Viking market new and fresh ideas will emerge, new heroes are called and tested with veterans known by loyal Festival guests through the years. A total of almost two hundred Vikings are expected foreign and domestic.
Bjørgvin Marknad is a viking and medieval festival where the re-enactors take you back in time and show you how a market would look like almost one thousand years ago.
The festival lasts for three days, and is located at mount Fløyen, overlooking the center of Bergen city.
About 200 participants, of which about 120 warriors, will provide the public with insight into an 11th century encampment with crafts, market and the re-enactment of a historic battle as the main feature on both Saturday and Sunday.
Throughout the weekend, there will be opportunities for skirmishes, weapon demonstrations and training, and the battle will consist of a fixed-script part as well as free battle.
Also planned are workshops and demonstrations for the public, e.g. Viking boat display, fashion show, archery workshop and historical children's games.
The encampment is rounded off with authentic market stalls.

At the Dark Age Festival you can meet the country's leading Dark Age Re-enactment group, the Vikings, who will be camped in Living History Tentage displaying the day-to-day skills and crafts that made them not only fearsome warriors but great traders with particular skills in metal work and jewellery.
The Vikings of old had trading outposts from the Black Sea to Dublin. Of course, there are likely to be displays of fighting and skill at arms as well! The event also features a Dark Age Market with specialist traders and craftsmen, plus good quality catering and a Real Ale Bar.

For the 28th time, modern day Largs commemorates the Battle of Largs 1263 - the last Viking Invasion in the UK - with the world renowned Viking Festival.
There are lots of Events on during the festival, it starts on Saturday 30 August with a parade through the streets of Largs, official opening and lots of fun activities and displays. During the week there is a Viking Village on the promenade populated by re-enactors "The Vikings" where you can learn more about how the Vikings used to live. The event concludes with the grand finale - the symbolic re-enactment of the battle along with boat burning and fireworks on Valhalla Day at The Pencil monument - Saturday 6 September 2008.
